Dr. Ali Rashidinejad holds a PhD in Food Science from the University of Otago (New Zealand).  He has been working in the field of phytochemicals and bioactive compounds for about a decade. He is currently a research scientist and an academic member of Riddet Institute, Massey University (Palmerston North, New Zealand). On the field of encapsulation and delivery of phytochemicals in food, Dr. Rashidinejad has published numerous papers in top-ranked International Food Science journals, as well as co-authoring two books and several book chapters. He is the primary investigator and first inventor of ‘FlavoPlus’, a new method for delivery of hydrophobic flavonoids in functional foods. He is also the creator of ‘FoodFort’, a comprehensive digital platform containing the information about delivery of bioactive compounds in functional food and a new tool for functional food designers. Dr Rashidinejad has led and is leading numerous research projects at the Riddet Institute (Massey University) excluding postgraduate projects. To date, he has contributed to securing more than $5 M research funds through governmental organisations and the food industry.
