Title: Translational Research for Functional Foods Development and Efficacy Testing

 

Brief: Currently, Granato works as an Associate Professor in Food Science and Health at the Faculty of Science and Engineering – University of Limerick, Ireland. Granato is a Food Engineer, PhD in Experimental Nutrition, and PhD in Food Chemistry. His research projects are related to Circular economy in food systems, Process/Product optimization, development and functional foods. Granato has supervised more than 90 B.Sc., M.Sc., and PhD candidates and has a solid experience in editing top-ranked journals, such as Food Chemistry, Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety and Journal of Food Science. Granato has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers and has been a Highly Cited Researcher since 2018. As for collaboration, Granato has worked with multiple food industry partners and academics in different countries, with demonstrable deposited patents and conjoint publications.
